Service Description
The training and resources provided in this course will assist personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. The course will also benefit any person who has a responsibility to function in an Incident command post or an EOC position managing an expanding incident You will participate in group activities that introduce the development of the Incident Action Plan and demonstrate the interactions between the Command and General Staff sections of the ICS Topics • How the National Incident Management System Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents • The incident/event management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed by the Incident Command System • Implementing the incident management process at a simulated incident. • Developing an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident Target Audience: Personnel expected to perform in a management capacity in an expanding incident that may require a higher level of NIMS/ICS training from the following disciplines/services: • Fire Service • Emergency Medical Services • Hazardous Materials • Law Enforcement • Public Health • Public Works • Emergency Management • Government administrative • Private sector and military • County, state, and federal agency personnel who may assume a supervisory role in expanding incidents or Type 3 incidents Questions: Chris Heppel, CHeppel@eugene-or.gov Mike Bamberger, michael.bamberger@oregonstate.edu Prerequisites IS 100 Introduction to Incident Command System IS 200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents IS 700 National Incident Management System (NIMS): An Introduction IS 800B National Response Framework: An Introduction Send completed prerequisite certificates to: Michael.bamberger@oregonstate.edu prior to class start Obtain a FEMA Student Identification Number • Federal Student Identification (SID) is required for each student. DHS/FEMA has directed the implementation of the Federal SID for all HSNTP granted funded participants. If you have attended a federal training in the past 18-24 months you may already have SID #; if so select the option “Forgot Your FEMA SID?” Procedure to obtain a SID # 1. To register, go to https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid 2. Click on the "Register for a FEMA SID" button near the top the screen 3. Follow the instructions and provide the necessary information to create your account 4. You will receive an email with your SID number that you should keep in a secure location
